2026 Bookish Flights Reading Challenge

As a new reading year approaches, I always find myself thinking less about how much I want to read and more about how I want reading to feel. The 2026 Bookish Flights Reading Challenge is designed to be simple, nostalgic, and intentional. It’s a gentle framework to help you dream about the year ahead.

At the heart of the challenge is one idea: one book per month. Twelve prompts meant to guide your reading, revisit old favorites, and make space for stories that matter.

This year includes two ways to participate. The individual challenge offers a thoughtful structure that adapts to your reading rhythm, while the family challenge invites shared reading experiences—reading aloud, audiobooks, or letting everyone choose their own books.

You’ll also find optional Canva templates to help you plan, track, and share your reading year in a visual, fun way.

If you’re looking for book ideas to match the prompts, you might also enjoy the Bookish Flights Road Map - a curated guide to reading recommendations pulled from over 175 podcast episodes. It’s a great companion to the challenge when you’re deciding what to read next.
